Useful information
When to come to Tanzania?
The whole year is interesting in Tanzania. Each period has its advantages. We just advise against coming from the end of March to the beginning of May because it is the season of heavy rains.

Some airlines (KLM,Qatar, Ethiopian) offer multi-destination flights, which allows you to land in Kilimanjaro and leave from Zanzibar.

The current is 230V. Socket outlets are three pin (UK system). Remember to take an adapter.
Cash
The Tanzanian currency is the Tanzanian shilling (TSH) 1€ = 2680tsh (Sep 2023). The largest denomination is the 10,000tsh note (€3.73). You can withdraw cash from ATMs in all major cities. Having local currency is useful for making small purchases on the road. In tourist locations, US dollars are often accepted. It is not possible to withdraw dollars from money machines, but you can change your euros into dollars at banks and exchange offices. The easiest way is to come with dollars on you. So consider taking tickets dating from after 2006.

You need a valid passport that is valid for another 6 months after the date of entry into Tanzania.
